Labelling Code

The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), in collaboration with the Australian Music Retailers Association (AMRA), manage the Labelling Code of Practice for Recorded Music Products. Under this voluntary code, record labels affix a warning label on physical products (such as CDs and vinyl) to let consumers know when a product contains explicit content.

The Code was updated to bring Australia’s labelling practices in line with the classifications used for music online.

Head to the ARIA website for more information.
